Reputation of the school is for the past 168 years.
In the year 1849, Rev.C.F.Kremmer started a primary school at Tana Street in a rented house. There were 48 boys and 31 girls studied. 2 male and 1 female teacher worked in that school.
In the year 1858, Lutheran Adaikalanather church had been constructed at Tana Street and the school had been shifted to the church campus. From the year 1849 to 1866 Rev.Kremer served as the Manager of the school. Students were taught through English and Tamil medium.
Rev.R.Handmann took charge as GERMAN MISSIONARY at Chennai. He served in our school from 1886 to 1887. Students strength increased. Separate school for girls was formed.
In the year 1882, Rev.R. Handmann upgraded the primary school to Middle School.
In the year 1887, Rev.R.Handmann retired and returned to Germany. In the same year, Rev.Kabis was appointed as GERMAN MISSIONARY for Chennai and because of his dedicated service, the strength of the school further increased.
In memory of Rev. FABRICIUS, who served from 4.12.1741 to 1791 (50 years) as missionary, Rev.Kabis named the school as FABRICIUS SCHOOL.
In the year 1892, Rev.Kabis returned to Germany for a long leave. Rev.NAEITHER continued the service and bought 3 adjacent houses to expand and construct the School. The total area of the site was 21295 sq.ft.
Meanwhile, Rev.Kabis retired during in the year 1893. On 21.11.1893, Director of the mission, Mr.Von Scrwartz laid the foundation stone to construct the School. A Catholic civil engineer constructed the school with free service.
On 12.7.1894 , the school was dedicated. Already functioning school at Tana Street had been shifted to the new campus. Many German people , missionaries,and then Ambassador of Germany Mr.Gerdes participated at that time.
In the year 1914, (first world war), this school had been upgraded to High school. The first Headmaster of this school was Mr. M.D.Manickam M.A.,L.T ,who was the old student of the school at Tana Street.
In 1926, high school classes were started. In 1930, the first set of students appeared S.S.L.C examination.
In 1978 , this school was upgraded as Higher Secondary school with the aid of Germany mother church Ihmels block was renovated in 1998-99.
150th year of the school was celebrated in a grand manner.
Now 168th year is running. Let us pray for the improvement of this school.
